Overview
Paramedic Duckling (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an EMS education platform operated by Brian Miller. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
Questions? Email us at paramedic.duckling@gmail.com.
Information We Collect
- Account information. Your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth — we never see your plaintext password).
- Payment information. Billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or full billing details — only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
- Study activity. Quiz scores, answers submitted, tools used, and session timestamps. This is used to show you your own progress and to improve the platform.
- Certification level. EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic — used to filter content to your scope of practice.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide access to the platform and your study history
- To process and manage your subscription via Stripe
- To personalize content to your certification level and weak areas
- To send transactional emails (password resets, subscription confirmations)
- To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase — database and authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the US.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled.
- Anthropic — powers the AI Tutor (PD). When you use the AI Tutor, your follow-up question and the surrounding quiz context (question text, options, your selected answer) are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how this data is handled on their end.
- Vercel — hosting and deployment.
Data Retention
We retain your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your account and progress history remain intact — we don't delete your data on cancellation. If you want your account and data permanently deleted, email us and we will remove it within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your study data
To exercise any of these rights, email paramedic.duckling@gmail.com.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify active subscribers by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
